Due to the dangerous wind chill temperatures forcasted for tomorrow, Nippersink School District and Richmond Burton Community Highschool District have canceled school for Tuesday, January 16.
Richmond Burton Community High School and all Nippersink School District Schools will be closed today Friday, January 12 due to severe weather. All after school activities will also be canceled.
Greetings Nippersink and Richmond-Burton Families:
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the Richmond/Spring Grove area. They are forecasting heavy snow accumulations to begin early tomorrow morning during the time when we transport students to school. The latest report suggests we may see up to an inch of snow per hour early Tuesday morning.
Therefore, out of an abundance of caution for student and staff safety, school and all after school events for Tuesday, January 09, 2024 will be canceled.
Sincerely,
Dr. Tom Lind
Superintendent

Good afternoon,
You may already have heard the news that FEMA and FCC will be conducting a Nationwide Emergency Alert Test on Wednesday. This test is conducted at the Federal level, but we would like our community to be informed.
Date and Time: Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 1:20 pm CDT
"In case the Oct. 4 test is postponed due to widespread severe weather or other significant events, the back-up testing date is Oct. 11."
What to expect:
This test will be transmitted to cell phones and likely sound similar to an Amber Alert or National Weather Service Severe Weather Alert.
More information can be found on the FEMA website using the link below and numerous news media sources.
