STUDENT DATA PRIVACY
Nippersink School District 2 and RBCHS District 157 are committed to protecting the information security of our students. We have policies in place (Nippersink District 2 and Richmond-Burton CHSD 157) which are designed to keep our student data safe and to ensure our compliance with various laws.
Effective July 1, 2021, all Illinois school districts are required by the Student Online Personal Protection Act (SOPPA) to provide additional guarantees that student data is protected when collected by educational technology companies, and that data is used for beneficial purposes only (105 ILCS 85).
In accordance with SOPPA, via our websites you will find:
a listing of District-approved apps and vendors the collect student data
Specification of the type of data collected by each vendor
Signed vendor contracts guaranteeing the security of your child’s data
Information about your options as a parent regarding your student’s data
